Career Summary: Ambassador Senavirathne is a career officer in Sri Lanka Foreign Service (Grade I) with a service record spanning over 22 years. He has served in several capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sri Lanka Missions Abroad. Ambassador Senavirathne has served as Director General of Consular Affairs Division at the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka, immediately prior to his present assignment in Cairo. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief of Protocol, Director/ Oversea Administration Division and Assistant Director at Europe, CIS and Americas Division and East Asia Pacific Division. Ambassador Senavirathne has served in Sri Lanka Missions in Oslo (Norway), Berlin (Germany), Manama (Bahrain), Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Rome (Italy). Ambassador Senavirathne has graduated from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka, and he has obtained the master’s degree in political economy of European Integration from the Berlin School of Economics and Law in Germany.
